Active in community affairs and organizations, Turner received the Humanitarian Award in 1979 from the Save-A-Heart Foundation and a City of Peace Award from Israel Bonds in 1985. People will remember him for these and many other reasons. Jerry was born October 7, 1934, in Houston, TX to the late Henry Crosley Turner Sr. and Martha Jane Turner.
